I heard this show a couple of weeks ago. It was fantastic.

This episode of JALC’s Peabody Award-winning radio series examines singer Bobby McFerrin’s composition, VOCAbuLarieS, with audio from a November 2010 performance at the Rose Theater in Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Host Wendell Pierce provides background along with interviews with McFerrin and collaborator Roger Treece on the sprawling, imaginative, multi-lingual piece, which incorporates African, European, gospel, R&B and soul music, in addition to jazz, and is performed by a 44-voice choir, with some help from the Rose Theater audience.
